My name is Dr. Marc Miller. I received my Ph.D. in Psychology from Adelphi University on Long Island. After many years as a psychotherapist, I decided that most of my clients were not suffering from any psychological or psychiatric disorder, but, rather, were essentially healthy people who were facing life challenges, and needed some help navigating through them in as healthy and positive way as possible. Coaching takes that approach more than psychotherapy does. So I shifted my focus to coaching. I received professional coach training at a program called iCoachNewYork, and have received lots of other training, that includes becoming a CDC Certified Divorce Coach, and a Divorce Mediator (The Center for Mediation and Training in NYC), and studying Conversational Intelligence (with Judith E. Glaser) and Positive Intelligence (with Shirzad Chamine). I am a proud member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the world's largest professional coaching organization, and hold the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from ICF. I am the immediate Past-President of the Long Island chapter of ICF (ICF-LI).
